In the News

We’ve had the distinct pleasure of seeing some of the great names in the food business darken our doorway from time to time. Bobby Flay, and others have made it here, and we’ve even been featured in food TV, Southern Living and many others. Our sister company, Taste of Goumet, brings the flavor of Indianola to homes across America.

Come visit The Crown and see why!

"Good Food Does Get Talked About!"

Saveur Magazine included The Crown in October's 2009 issue - Southern Glories on page 20!

We were one of six Mississippi restaurants featured and the words are: "The Crown - The Catfish Pate and Catfish Allison (a whole fillet grantineed in a scallion cream sauce) have kept this Indianola Restaurant going strong for 33 years!" Another article says "we even have Catfish Pate!

Bon Appetit

The June 2008 issue of Bon Appetit included The Crown Restaurant in their Mississippi Delta tour article, with a great description of our Catfish Allison and a picture of our Delta Fudge Pie! We’ve had guests come in with the magazine in their hands, and one group of ladies from Memphis planned an entire birthday celebration day around the article with lunch at The Crown!

The Travel Channel's Taste of America, with host Mark DeCarlo, debuted in June 2008 and continues to be shown! They were in Indianola to shoot the Mississippi Delta Show in August of 2007. It’s a wonderful show, full of fun and our great Catfish Allison, as well as yummy fried Catfish that Dr. Mike Montesi cooked for all of us to enjoy during the show taping!
